Nigeria: Oshoala Crowned African Women's Player of the Year

Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala has been crowned the 2019 African Women's Player of the Year ahead of Ajara Nchout from Cameroon and South Africa's Thembi Kgatlana, who was crowned in Dakar, Senegal 12 months ago.The Nigerian superstar had been crowned winner in 2014, 2016 and 2017 and has now equaled the record of her mentor and compatriot Perpetua Nkwocha who had been decorated four times - 2004, 2005, 2010, and 2011 at the annual awards ceremony staged in Hurghada on Tuesday.Since 2014, Oshoala has always made it to the top three in the running for the Women's Player of the Year award and her ability in 2019 has seen her win the award for the fourth time.In the same vein, Senegalese forward Sadio Mane was named the 2019 CAF African Player of the Year beating Liverpool's teammate Mohammed Salah and Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez.Mane has been a finalist in the previous three editions of the CAF Player of the Year, but in all those instances, he never went back home with the coveted piece of silverware.Mane was Senegal's main man at the 2019 AFCON where he netted three goals on the Teranga Lions' path...
